Location Central. Rooms excellent. Shower king size. Althou breakfast at hotel across the road in nice court yard. Friendly service.

They were modern, clean and updated. Mostly though the shower was excellent!

This was not a problem for me, but others might have a problem with the walk up situation.

Fabulous location, newly refurbished.

Paying in cash can be a headache if you are not told beforehand.

Very good location close to the old town, sea, bus station, restaurants. Room was modern and beautifully renovated. Sanja and Tina are just great and helpful, felt like friends! Breakfast was a nice extra. Highly recommend.

Very good customer service, good advice from the manager about things to see, where to eat, etc... Room clean, recently renovated I guess, modern and trendy.

A light moisture smell in the room (butnot unsual in most hotels in Croatia... I don'T know why), but don't worry too much about that. Noise from the corridor, insonorisation should be improved. But no noise from the outside.

The quality of the interior design/furniture/fabrics did not meet our expectations. The ambiance of the room was not "luxurious" at all. The so called breakfast was served at a restaurant near by. This was the worst breakfast that we have ever had. Frankly speaking it was disgusting and not edible. On top of this the staff was rude.

Both the staff and the accommodation were excellent. A little expensive at 175 euro per night but at peak season this was ceratoinly a much higher standard of accommodation than was being offered elsewhere for even greater prices. I'd recommend these rooms to anyone who is looking for assured quality. Also...your questionaire does not cover all possible options of 'couples' and does not allow 'other'. My partner (28 years old) and I (53 years old)...what category????...mature couple? young couple??...neither?

The room was nice and the location was good. Staff was also friendly and helpfull.

The thing that I didn't like was the fact that credit card was not accepted. So I had to go and withdraw cash in order to pay a room. When asking a receipt (business trip) the "receptionist" was a bit unsure whether it was possible to get one, Luckily this was arrangeable and I left the hotel with the document. However, I strongly recommend that Booked.net emphasizes, underscores and underlines in BOLD letters the fact that hotel does not approve credit cards. With small letters, in the bottom of the reservation....who pays attention? I was annoyed even though it was my own fault. I had not examined my reservation carefully enough. Now I know that this thing has to be checked out with utmost attention. By the way, I had a view to dirty backyard and no balcony. The image of the hotel is not corresponding with reality.

Very attractive design. Our room had views over the harbour. Great location rightopposite the Silver gate of Diocletian's Palace.Very friendly staff.

Third floor with no lift so you need to be reasonably fit. Could be noisy early in the morning as it is located close to the food market, so needed to keep the window closed.

Difficult to find initially and if you are driving to Split, it can be confusing on where to park to unload the luggage. However, the staff of La Porta assisted with the luggage and helped with directions to the parking station that is 10 minutes walk. The 79 steps up to the room are very challenging...no need to go to the gym

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was very modern and clean. Location was excellent, right in the old town.

No lighting in stairs made for a tricky early morning departure in complete darkness.

Very helpful proprietor who lifted our bags up and down the many stairs on arrival and departure. Modern, well-designed rooms with comfortable beds. Quiet but very central.

Very helpful staff (Tina), nice personal welcoming, great location just outside the old palace, easy to find, very nice room & bathroom, good breakfast at Tiffany's was included.

The room was a little small (room #3) if you have much luggage.

La Porta suited us. It is 15yards from the Silver Gate leading into the beautiful Roman walled city of Split. Yes there are a number of steps leading to the rooms and there is no reception but when we arrived all we did was ask one of the stall holders outside the appartment 'La Porta?' And he rang a number and within seconds someone appeared by motorbike and took our bags up for us, opened our room and behold in front of us was this lovely compact modern appartment. The bottom line is if all you need is somewhere close to the port and The Palce this was perfect.Its also within easy walking distance to the Airport Shuttle buses and a quarter of a mile from Splits main beach. Litteraly around the corner is the fruit/veg market and for the provided breakfast all you do is go through the Silver Gate turn left where there is a delightful hotel built into the Roman wall where you have your breakfas outside. Close your eyes, listen to the bells ringing and the swifts/swallows zooming down and you could be wearing a toga.To us it was that good.
